Chamber Music Guild took chamber music coaching into schools in 2016 with the innovative In-School Coaching Program (formerly called ECCHO). Artistic Director Skyros Quartet designed a comprehensive 10-week curriculum for this unique enrichment program, adaptable for middle school and high school students. Working closely with school music teachers, our aim is to ensure the program benefits both the coached student ensemble and the orchestra as a whole. Teachers often gain new insights and pedagogical tools to use with small ensembles.
Public and private schools in King and Snohomish County are eligible for the In-School Coaching Program. Students pay no fees! We are committed to recruiting and offering tuition assistance to schools with students from underrepresented and underserved communities and underfunded music programs.
Coaching sessions focus on musical skill development, collaboration, expression, and confidence. Each semester includes:
- Ten one-hour weekly coaching sessions per semester for a quartet selected by the orchestra teacher.
- Tailored curriculum with program handbook for each student and teacher
- Student Recital for family and friends at the end of each semester, typically on a Sunday afternoon

“What an amazing experience getting to play in a quartet has been for my daughter. It has challenged her to take her music to a higher level. I hear her frustration as she works on mastering new skills and then her sense of pride once she nails a piece.”
“Once again, thank you so much for the work you are doing. All of the students in my orchestras are benefiting from the leadership that the participants are bringing back into class after working with you. Keep up the excellent work!”
