Weekend Retreat – Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are the housing options at the Weekend Retreat?

A: Chamber Music Guild rents 8 cabins on the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts (ICCA) campus, conveniently located near rehearsal spaces, Canyon Wren recital hall, and Snowy Owl Theater. The cabins are shared accommodations which hold 3 or 4 people. Other participants choose to find accommodations in nearby Leavenworth, in hotels, condos, houses, or B&B’s.

The 8 cabins on the ICCA campus are managed and serviced by the Sleeping Lady Resort. New this year, CMG has worked with the Sleeping Lady to reserve a limited number of 2-person rooms on the Sleeping Lady property, a short walk away from the ICCA campus.

Q: How do I get a double room at the Sleeping Lady?

A: Please indicate your interest in being assigned to a double room in your application. If there is a greater demand for the limited number of rooms we have reserved, we will assign them based on a lottery. When you fill out the application, please let us know whether you would want to be assigned to one of the 8 cabins if a double is not available for you. We will communicate whether you have a cabin or double room by June 1st.

Q: How much are fees for the cabins at the ICCA and double rooms at the Sleeping Lady?

A: The 2026 ICCA cabin fees are $385 per person; the double rooms at the Sleeping Lady are $435 per person.

Q: Can I reserve one of the ICCA cabins for just 2 people?

A: Not at this time; the fees are set based on having 3 people per cabin, and we try to accommodate the many people who want to stay on the ICCA campus. People choose to stay on campus because of its convenient location for rehearsals and ad hoc playing, as well as the extra camaraderie with other participants.

Q: Are the cabin fees refundable?

A: Cabin fees (and tuition) are due June 15th. Cabin fee payments are fully refundable if you cancel before June 15th, and 50% refundable if you cancel between June 16th – August 1st. After August 1st, fees may be refunded at the discretion of the Chamber Music Guild Board. However, cabin fees will be fully transferable; for example, if you cancel and we are able to find a paying participant to take your place, you will get a full refund.

Q: What if I change my mind about whether I want to stay on or off campus?

A: If you at first wanted to stay off campus, and then decide that you’d prefer to stay in one of the cabins, please contact us to see if there is room for you. We are often able to accommodate additional people who want to stay on campus.

If you sign up to stay in a cabin or in one of the double rooms, and then decide you want to stay off campus, the refund policy will apply to any payments you may have made.

Q: Can I just go to the Sleeping Lady Resort and make my own room reservation?

A: You can contact the Sleeping Lady to make a reservation that is separate from the block of rooms and ICCA cabins that we have reserved for the Weekend Retreat. That reservation will be subject to the Sleeping Lady’s rates and availability.

Q: When do you put 4 people in a cabin on the ICCA campus?

A: We have sometimes had such great demand for cabin space that we’ve put 4 people into one cabin. Please note that this is a rare situation, and we ask for everyone’s permission before we put 4 people in a cabin. Sometimes we have a quartet whose members ask to stay in the same cabin, and we are happy to accommodate that request!

Q: What types of beds are available in the rooms and cabins?

A: Three of the cabins at the ICCA are configured with 3 bunk beds, and 5 of the cabins have one king-sized bed and one bunk bed. We will ask if you are willing and able to climb up and sleep on the top bunk, and take that into account when assigning participants to cabins. We need at least one person in every cabin to be willing to take a top bunk, and climb up from the foot of the bed.

The double rooms at the Sleeping Lady are configured with one queen-size bed and one bunk bed. This is the first year we have worked with the Sleeping Lady to reserve some rooms at the Resort, so we will be interested in hearing your feedback about this after the event.

Q: What amenities are available in the cabins?

A: Each cabin has a bathroom with a shower, soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Linens and towels, a mini-fridge, and coffee-maker are provided. All the cabins have wi-fi access.

Q: Can you tell me more about meals?

A: Our caterer, Adrianne Dow Young, serves delicious seasonal food that focuses on the local food cycle in the Leavenworth area. She easily accommodates vegetarians and vegans as well as participant dietary restrictions (such as allergies). Meals are served buffet-style in the Snowy Owl Theater lobby and eaten outside in the covered patio area.
